Marcus Cowie AustengGeneral Manager

Marcus graduated from Monash University as a Mechanical Engineer and has been an integral part of Austeng since 1994, contributing his diverse skill set across multiple disciplines within the company. His extensive experience spans design, mechanical and electrical engineering, programming, and project management, reflecting his versatility and commitment to delivering comprehensive solutions.

In his role as General Manager, Marcus oversees the seamless execution of projects across Austeng’s departments.

In addition to his general management duties, Marcus holds a specialized role as the Crematorium Equipment Service Manager. This involves overseeing the maintenance, service, and support of Austeng’s specialized equipment in this sensitive sector, ensuring reliability and compliance with industry standards.

Marcus’s tenure and contributions at Austeng exemplify his role as a leader who combines technical expertise with managerial acumen. His background in Mechanical Engineering, coupled with his extensive experience across design, project management, and specialized service management, position him as a key driver of Austeng’s continued success and innovation in the engineering industry. Mechanical EngineerDylan Mayson Austeng

Dylan graduated from Deakin University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) with a prior mechanical trade background.  As the Lead Design Engineer, his innovative mindset and keen eye for detail consistently elevate Austeng’s engineering projects to new heights of excellence.

As a Project Manager, Dylan is characterized by his ability to effectively coordinate resources, manage timelines, and mitigate risks, all while maintaining a strong focus on quality and client satisfaction. His strategic thinking and problem-solving skills enable him to overcome challenges proactively, ensuring that projects stay on track and objectives are met or exceeded.

In leadership roles he cultivates a supportive team culture, mentoring junior engineers and inspiring colleagues to achieve their best.

Dylan is a Registered Professional Engineer with the National Engineering Register (NER) and a Registered Professional Engineer with Victorian Building Licensing Authority (RPEV).

Consultant.

One of the original shareholders and engineers. Over 40 years experience in innovative engineering and management he is now a consultant, thus helping to maintain his legacy of engineering excellence.

Lyn George Austeng

Corporate Director

Bachelor of Laws with Honours, Melbourne University. Background experience in commercial litigation. Performs legal and managerial functions within the company. Her legal background and communications skills add commercial depth to the company. Has been instrumental in Austeng’s transition to new areas of advanced manufacturing.

Over the 2020 Queen’s Birthday weekend, Lyn was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of her contribution to Australian manufacturing and unwavering leadership throughout Geelong’s transformation into a world-renowned hub in advanced manufacturing.

Since formally joining Austeng in 1993 Lyn has grown increasingly passionate abour manufacturing and the benefits it brings to employment, innovation, environment and community. Lyn has become a driving force to grow manufacturing in the region, raise public profile and attract new talent into the industry. This has manifested in many ways including taking up volunteer rolls in key regional industry groups and organisations including,

In the past seven years Lyn has also become an advocate for transformative start-ups in manufacturing. She has helped innovators, designers and inventors devise bespoke, cost-effective solutions to their manufacturing needs. As a result, many have grown into thriving businesses. She is a founding director of two start-up companies namely Capricorn Power and FormFlow.

Lyn is a standout example for women in manufacturing especially considering her training and background in Corporate Law specialising in Federal and Supreme Court litigation.

David Habgood AustengElectrical Engineer

David graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering (Hons).  David Habgood is a highly valued member of Austeng, serving in dual capacities as Lead Electrical and Programming Engineer and as Crematorium Service Support. His extensive expertise and versatile skill set play a crucial role in both the technical and operational aspects of the company, contributing significantly to its overall success and service excellence

In his role as an Electrical and Programming Engineer, David brings knowledge and technical proficiency to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and control programming. His  understanding of electrical engineering principles, coupled with his expertise in programming and automation, enables him to create sophisticated solutions that enhance the functionality and efficiency of Austeng’s projects.  David’s responsibilities include Electrical Design and Development, Programming and Automation, Testing and Troubleshooting as well as Collaboration with other engineers and technical teams to integrate electrical and programming solutions into broader project frameworks. His collaborative approach ensures that all components function harmoniously.

David’s role extends beyond traditional engineering responsibilities to include essential support for the crematorium services offered by Austeng. His work in this area demonstrates his commitment to providing high-quality, reliable support to ensure the smooth operation of crematorium equipment and systems.

David Habgood’s dual role at Austeng showcases his exceptional versatility and expertise. As an Electrical and Programming Engineer, he delivers innovative and reliable technical solutions that enhance project outcomes. Furnace Specialist and “A” Grade Electrician.

Has worked on our furnaces for over 15 years. He now project manages our furnace installation projects and up-grades.

BRAD HUTTON

Project Manager.

Brad has worked in the company for more than 20 years, having completed his trade apprenticeship with us. Brad’s organisational and time management skills ensures our equipment is manufactured, delivered and is commissioned promptly with a minimum of fuss. His depth of experience and trade background in sheet metal plus his exposure to the trade areas of boiler making, fitting and electrical bring a good balance to the management team.
