The latest “Joule” is made in Australia and is packed with unique and innovative features that will ensure it continues to set the standards against which all other designs are measured.

The “Joule” Cremator has undergone several changes since its introduction, but a common thread links every stage of its development – INNOVATION.

ADVANTAGES OF  THE AUSTENG “JOULE” CREMATOR OVER OTHER DESIGNS –

Cost

The “Joule” is cost effective. It’s high throughput, low fuel usage and low labour input means the “Joule” Cremators have the lowest unit cost of any furnace in the industry while simultaneously meeting the most stringent emission guidelines. Its comprehensive control system ensures optimum performance without the need of manual intervention at any stage.

Fuel Efficiency

The secondary combustion zone optimises thermal efficiency thus reducing fuel consumption and heat up time. The “Joule” Cremator is unique in incorporating a secondary combustion zone “wrapped around” the primary chamber therefore minimal fuels required while maintaining the secondary zone at the 850°C if required.

The “Joule” Cremator provides compact design whilst maintaining full 2 seconds retention time.

Safe

An atomised water mist injector system protects the operator during charging.

The “Joule” cremator improves process control and provides improved safety during emergency shut down.

The computerized control system also incorporates numerous self-checking and
safety features to protect both the operator and the plant.

Time Taken

Cremation time averages 70 minutes

Pollution Control

The “Joule” cremators comply with the stringent anti-pollution requirements present in Europe. Multi element waste gas sampling also improves reliability and accuracy of waste gas emission monitoring equipment.

Ease of Control

The computerized control system is easy to operate. There is no need for the operator to be an “expert’ in the area of computers.

Training – Case study

Recent staff training undertaken by Austeng at Thorak Regional Cemetery, Darwin NT.

General Comments:

Awesome training”

“Makes cremator operations a breeze”

“We like the way Tim simplified the whole cremation operation, it left us feeling secure that Austeng is there to assist at any time”

Comments regarding the best learning outcomes:

“It became clear the cremator unit itself is robust, safe and built for most situations we could throw at it”

“Knowing the outside generator can take over the cremation operation in we lose power in the middle of the process; conversely; knowing its ok if we lose power during a cremation and we turn everything off, that’s ok too, the cremator will take care of things.”

“Raking time is variable, depending of the different circumstances”

“New short cuts”

Comments from participants when asked for other general comments to the training experience:

“The laminated A3 process chart is a great operator reminder sheet to attach to the crematory wall”
